Get to Know
Dr. Shah
Dr. Shah has been a periodontist since 2018 and prides himself on being gentle and caring about his patients' comfort. He is detailed and thorough in his explanations of diagnosis and treatment, and loves to provide helpful and practical suggestions for ongoing oral hygiene.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Periodontist?
Gum health is often overlooked by patients and dentists alike, and that’s a main reason Dr. Shah wanted to become a periodontist. Because many patients are better about caring for their teeth than caring for their gums, the perio niche is a unique place to educate patients on the oral microbiome and its relationship to one’s overall health. As a periodontist at Peak Vision Dental, his specialties are gum surgery, soft tissue grafts, bone grafts, tooth extractions, and dental implants.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Shah is all about spending time with his family and friends (many of whom are also in dental and other medical fields) and exercising and fitness. If he didn’t become a periodontist, he would have been an environmental scientist, biologist, or clinical researcher - all areas he enjoys learning about in his spare time.

The Clear Aligner Process
Consultation & Evaluation
During your initial visit, Dr. Kanter will carefully assess your teeth and bite to determine if clear aligners are the right treatment option for you.
Treatment Plan
Based on the detailed scans, our team will develop a comprehensive treatment plan, mapping out the step-by-step process for gradually shifting your teeth into their ideal positions. We'll use advanced 3D scanning technology to capture highly accurate digital impressions of your teeth, which will be used to create your custom aligners.
Aligner Fabrication
Your custom clear aligners will then be fabricated using the latest materials and manufacturing techniques, ensuring a comfortable, precise fit.
Monitoring & Adjustments
Throughout your treatment, we'll closely monitor your progress and provide any necessary adjustments to your aligners to keep your smile transformation on track.
FAQ
How do clear aligners work?
Clear aligners apply gentle, controlled pressure to your teeth, slowly shifting them into their optimal positions over time. Each set of aligners is designed to move your teeth a little bit at a time, with new sets being worn every 1-2 weeks.
Are clear aligners as effective as traditional braces?
When used as directed, clear aligners can be just as effective as traditional metal braces for addressing a wide range of orthodontic issues, from crowding and spacing to bite misalignment.
How long does clear aligner treatment take?
The length of clear aligner treatment can vary depending on the complexity of your case, but many patients achieve their desired results in 12-18 months. Dr. Kanter will provide you with a personalized timeline during your consultation.
Do clear aligners hurt?
Clear aligners are generally much more comfortable than traditional braces, as they apply a gentler, more gradual force on your teeth. You may experience some minor discomfort when first starting a new set of aligners, but this typically subsides within a day or two.
