Dr. Matthew R. Kanter
After graduating from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2012, Dr. Kanter shipped out to Southern California to serve in the U.S. Navy. For six years, he had the privilege of providing dental care to the brave Marines, Sailors, Airmen, and Soldiers who deserve nothing but the highest quality treatment. Using cutting-edge technology and techniques, he was able to uphold the military's culture of excellence that pushes service members to continually raise the bar for themselves. This dedication is something Dr. Kanter eagerly looks forward to bringing to each and every one of his patients.
Growing up in Southern Indiana as the oldest of four children, Dr. Kanter's father (a small business owner) imparted the importance of building strong relationships and going the extra mile for employees and customers. His mother, a nurse, gifted him with a healing touch, patience, and a desire to help others. In retrospect, dentistry was the perfect career fit, allowing him to connect with patients, provide exceptional care, educate, and ensure every visit ends with at least one laugh or bright smile!
Dr. Matthew Kanter feels truly honored to carry on the legacy of Dr. Boman in caring for patients right here in Murrieta, California. Since 2018, Dr. Kanter has been practicing general dentistry in the Inland Valley area, and he is thrilled at the prospect of serving this community's dental needs for many years to come.
Dr. Kanter shares an unwavering commitment to professional development and ongoing education – the driving forces behind providing patients with the best possible dental experience. Following dental school, Dr. Kanter completed an advanced one-year residency program in general dentistry, training under the Navy's most seasoned clinicians across all specialties. He can confidently treat a comprehensive range of dental needs including crowns and bridges, cosmetic fillings and veneers, Botox and pain management, simple and complex extractions with bone grafting, orthodontic tooth movement with clear aligners, dental implants, partial and complete dentures like All-on-X, root canals, and his personal favorite - same day digitally designed crowns! No more messy impressions, loose temporaries, or second visits – the digital age has brought unmatched efficiency, precision, and convenience to dentistry.
Dr. Kanter is also a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, having completed over 500 hours of continued education courses to further enhance his clinical skills. Currently, he is working towards a Mastership from the same prestigious organization.
In his free time, Dr. Kanter is an avid outdoor enthusiast – you may find him hitting the golf links, hiking scenic trails, sailing, scuba diving, or simply taking in the beauty of this wonderful corner of the country.

Tattered Paws & Golden Hearts Rescue, Inc. is a Non Profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to global dog rescue. Our focus as a rescue is on creating additional awareness and support for dogs in need of medical attention, safety, foster homes, adoption, transportation, flight buddies and financial support. Since 2018, over 900 dogs have been adopted through TPGHR.
